No makeup? No way!

My daughter woke up today, complaining that one of her eyes hurt.

It did look a bit swollen around the edge. My hubby declared that it must be the makeup and give her face, and eyes a rest for the day. Go to school w/o makeup, he declared.

My daughter gave me this stricken look over his shoulder. He might have just suggested she run naked through the lunchroom.

"Well, maybe you can use my foundation and mascara today, I just bought them," I said.

She quickly snatched said makeup out of my hand - after first making sure that her father had left the house - and started working on her face.
