Yes innocent.
Both Jennifer and I had that reaction as we watched "Ed Sullivan and the 60s" on PBS. Fortunately we Tivo'd it, so we could get around all the annoying fund-raising chatter (sorry KCTS), but it was interesting to see the parade of stars that went through the Ed Sullivan show: The Beatles, of course, Mick Jagger and the Stones, Jim Morrison, The Little Rascals, and The Mommas and the Papas. Even when all were trying to be bad ass, ....even Jim...they just seemed like innocents being bad ass.
This blog will cover the collision of two cultures - parents and teen children. They don't understand us, and view us as spoilers or walking ATMs (adults with teen malcontents?) We are left wondering what happened to our cute cuddly kids of a few years back, and when they may return. If ever.

Mom, turn off that music
Each day, driving my daughter to school, she usually hums along with me to 106.9, which as we all know by now, has been playing Christmas carols since mid-November. But once we pull up to school, she frowns and tells me to turn off the radio while she opens the door, with strict instructions to NOT turn the radio back on until she's away. (At this point I'm itching to find a Barry Manilow song and crank the volume.)
She can't have her friends think that she actually likes that music, she tells me. When I threaten to jack up the sound just as she meets up with her friends, she just glares, as only a 14-year-old can, and stomps away.
