Yes, I know, we watch too much TV, but these have become our new fav's - American Pickers and Pawn Stars - along with Cold Case.
We need something to get us through the doldrums until the summer season picks up. Yes, Burn Notice and Royal Pains are on USA, but that's only one day a week. We're in a bit of a drought for the other six.

This blog will cover the collision of two cultures - parents and teen children. They don't understand us, and view us as spoilers or walking ATMs (adults with teen malcontents?) We are left wondering what happened to our cute cuddly kids of a few years back, and when they may return. If ever.

Stay away from the remote
I have saved Glee, the season finale, on Tivo tonight and Jennifer and I plan on watching all of it.
And keeping my husband away from the remote. As technically savvy as GAry is, that remote seems to hate him, and start misbehaving every time he tries to save something, play something, or restart.
Often, he ends up deleting a show that we've saved, as what happened about 3 Glee's ago. We haven't forgiven him, and have threatened to mass delete all his NCIS' if he does this again.
But as a precaution, we're just watching the finale live tonight (and record it too). And we're keeping dad away from the TV all together.

Joys of SNL
Right now, Gary's introducing Jennifer, because there is absolutely nothing to watch on TV, to the joys of SNL. I think she loves it (I remember that Gary told me he watched the show on Saturday nights, because he couldn't afford to go out on a producer's salary in North Dakota).
I think tho that some of the skits go flying over her head still, fortunately.

Home alone, so let's turn on Cold Case, then the Tudors
When Gary works late, J and I have a tendency to take over the TV before it can be flipped to HGTV or DIY.
Our faves are Cold Case and The Tudors, which sadly, we can't watch anymore because of paid tv, Showtime, I think, not being on our DirectTV list now. But they had a freebee over the weekend, so we quickly Tivo'd.

Perfect President's Day
With all due respect to the dead presidents, this is a great day. TNT is running a Supernatural marathon.

Our favorite Super Bowl Ads
Of course we watched the Super Bowl game and rooted for the Saints, who won of course.
But Jennifer and I were mainly there for the ads. Her favorite (I was out walking our dog when this came on) was the Betty White-Snickers ad.
My fav, from the ones I saw was with the Budweiser Clydesdale ad or the Vizio ad.
But the one that will probably get the most play with the teen crowd will be evident tomorrow, when kids are mysteriously missing from class at Auburn Senior High. That would be the Denny's ad offering free grand slam breakfasts from 6 a.m. to 2 p.m. tomorrow. I've told her I'd take her to an early breakfast if she can roll out of bed in time. But I'm not picking her up from school early. She thinks that most of her friends will either arrive late, or leave early to take advantage of the free sausage and pancakes.
Then there's the Docker's ad. Note to dockers, if you're going to offer free pants, assume that 70 percent of your audience i.e. 70 million males, will rush to your website, as my hubby did, to try to sign up.Your website was a major fail on this one.

Why don't you tell me to go to bed?
This is my daughter grumbling at me this am, as we're both hung over from watching too much tv.
I can usually snap back after one good night's sleep, but not so her.
And as usual, it's my fault, as I didn't tell her to go to bed on time. OK, I'll make note. Next time I'm in bed ,and I still hear that faint hum of the tv on, I'm going to use those words, walk into the tv room, click the set off and order her to bed.
